29th ANNUAL ROSCOE'S CHILI CHALLENGE

MISERABLE AT ROSCOE’S
The big number 23 for me this year!!! Yeah, I heard all the rumors that were circulating, some were true...some were NOT!!! The big back field WAS lost, but what WASN’T made known, was that Roscoe purchased 5 ½ acres right next to it, which was transformed into a huge, perfect camp area!! The neighbors cooperated by providing MORE camping area for both tents, AND RV’s. Folks, the alarms were un-founded... NO ONE got turned away, so if you skipped the Chili Challenge this year because of rumors... well, you skipped a good one!! All the usual events were run, right on schedule, thanks to Geoff White and his able staff!! There was a lot of chili to go around at “tasting time”, as well as free beer. The mini-bike races this year , were the most rugged I had EVER seen, as well as the Outhouse Nationals!! A very solemn opening ceremony, as always, remembering our armed forces, with songs, prayers, and a beautiful flag display. Again, as was last year… pole dancing...that was a real eye-opener... lots of pretty girls on stage, as well as on the grounds, where body painting abounded!! The weather was perfect til Saturday evening, when a front blew in and produced a bit of rain...nothing we couldn’t handle!! All in all, another FUN Chili Challenge... hey... Roscoe Does it Right!!!
