MISERABLE GEORGE'S FLASHBACKS
DAYTONA BEACH BIKE WEEK
Story & Photos by Miserable George
Back In The Day...
OK, call it what you will... nostalgia, ol’ school, whatever... it’s stuff that happened way back... almost in another dimension. I say this, because, in the past 20 years or so in the motorcycling world, things have changed. People who hated bikers back then, are now themselves…"bikers!" It’s the “in thing!” Sorry, I just don’t look at it that way.
The images I have submitted are from 20 to 25 years ago at Bike Week... where you can see the big change from then til now.
Remember Smiley’s Tap? You could park on U.S.#1, there was always a “beer girl” in the bed of a pick-up, selling beer, Pulsating Paula and Picture Pat were shooting pics for the biker mags... remember?
Up on A1A, Doc Holliday’s was selling that HOT Jerk Chicken... beautiful beach views!!
Moving south again, riding on the beach, the ANUS races... remember those? How about a brew or two at Cheech’s Tamoka Pub with the NFLCOC…?
Walking the raised walk-ways at the Horse, reading the Wall at Last Resort... Hell, I could go on and on! I’m Ol’ Skool... I treasure the old days. Stay tuned...I’ll have more later…
